The posting of employer, job, and internship information in our Handshake database should not be considered an endorsement by Career Education or Wellesley College of the organizations posting the positions or the positions posted.How can I schedule an appointment with Career Education?Īll appointments with members of the Career Education team are scheduled through Handshake, our digital career resource platform. If your account is declined and you have questions on next steps, please reach out to the Employer Engagement team at for additional information. Although we would like to respond back to each account that is declined, given the volume of requests we receive, we are unable to. Please note that we receive hundreds of requests for employer account approvals each week. If any school in Handshake rejects your request to connect, it may affect something called an “employer trust score” that can influence the decisions of others as to whether or not to approve your company or organization. When submitting commission only jobs and internships within Handshake, please indicate salary details accordingly.įailure to follow these guidelines may not only affect your potential relationship with Wellesley College but other schools in the Handshake system. Wellesley College reserves the right to decline approval on job postings by third party recruiters that include employers that we already have an established relationship with. Students will also not be required to pay a third party recruiting fee for any recruiting services rendered. If you are recruiting for another company, this will need to be apparent for postings within Handshake including, but not limited to, the name of the company that the position is being recruited for. Companies that ask our students to pay any amount for employment will also be denied. Note: Organizations that have either been flagged on Handshake or companies that we come across that have complaints on websites such as BBB, Glassdoor, etc. We emphasize a professional approach with all of our students when working with employers and appreciate employer relationships that value the importance of this principle. Review your Handshake profile as well as your website for tone of language, spelling and grammatical errors.Use email addresses with a domain that matches the domain of your website - including personal addresses such as Gmail on your Handshake organizational profile is discouraged.Please make sure that you include valid contact information and that your address, phone number, etc. Match your company information on your website with what you filled out on Handshake.We feel very strongly about not only providing our students access to jobs but career educational opportunities that will facilitate her learning, development, reflection and application. Include as much information as you can on types of job opportunities, company culture, and any other information that you feel may be helpful for our students to read before they apply.We understand that some of our employers may be start-ups and we recommend that you still include a company contact on your website that we may get in touch with should we have further questions.
